This article briefly presents the production process of a photographic essay, exploring metalanguage, ancestry and orality, from a gender cut articulated to the reality of the Afro-descendant community in Sergipe. This essay, produced in a collaborative way with men and women engaged in the arts in culture and anti-racist struggle, of the capital of Sergipe, Aracaju, was planned to be exhibited in the form of a traveling photographic rod.
