Este article discusses the city of Rio de Janeiro on the occasion of the celebration of the 400th birthday in 1965, some related editorial productions, and in particular the book ‘O Rio de Janeiro’ in pro-verso, organised by Manuel Bandeira and Carlos Drummond de Andrade, launched by the publishing house José Olympio.
