Internal and external perception of the distribution of voices in a Gospel twine

Abstract

An active debate in the coral direction is the right position to be taken by cork ropes: soprano, high, meaning and low (SATB). We have a Gospel cork with its usual director and test room, combining 2 types of heel (vertical or counter-pointed), 2 attachments (to Cappella or with instruments), and the 4 most frequent distributions in the Gospel corks. The coral overall sound was assessed by the corists themselves (N = 33) while singing (internal perception). The caorists (N = 24) and a group of professional musicians (N = 14) assessed the recording of the head of the director’s listening point (external perception). The results show a significant preference for classical coral distribution in all cases. There is a high match in the answers. The presence of instruments reduces valuation. Preference is correlated with homogeneity (external listening) and homogeneity and ease of listening (internal listening). Internal listening causes more differences in preference between distributions. Men are more sensitive to distribution for the ease of singing and hearing their voice, preferring distributions where severe voices are behind. Women do not distinguish between distributions for the ease of singing and listening.
