Abstract
The UDI, Union Women in Italy, has collaborated with the Observatory of Communications Processes on a monographic issue of the scientific journal M@gm@ entitled “Masculine Violence and Femicide”. The monographic issue aims to make available the analyses, the experience and the history of our and our interlocutors, as a contribution to our common work of raising awareness, combating male violence against women – femicide. “UDI STOP femicide” has been our campaign against gender-based violence for years, collaboration with the Monitoring Centre for Communications Processes is an integral part of this effort. The first and stated of our political projects is the contrast to the culture and ideological power that allows femicide, cultural and social subordination, the perception of women as an object of domination, the enslavement of so many women, including many women prostitutes... We know that we do not want to betray a “gender responsibility” that must necessarily materialise in so many “responsible gestures”, in the long daily patience that allows the sedimentation of a radical change in conscience. We want to continue to be the association that combines personal subjectivity and the direct assumption of responsibility, of long-term planning that does not find “contradictory” to be measured with concrete and daily solidarity with other women, in an attempt to give birth to new ways of thinking.
