Abstract
The author refers to the conceptual theoretical development that originates and underpins an architectural project, in the context of expansionary metropolitan urban growth and the demand for urban land for the location of economic housing units. He considers that a viable alternative is to densify the Santiago pericentre, restoring existing megastructures through the renovation of residential areas. At neighbourhood level, a urban-housing solution is proposed by densification of the immediate environment, consisting of a mega-apple with buildings in departments of medium altitude and inhabited. In addition, setting up public spaces to resolve the presence of criminal outbreaks, through the correlation of the physical structure with the social structure of the site and the visual and spatial control of residents.
