Research into the place of women in history, feminism and gender is being carried out in many countries of the world, now has a wide reach and is already characterised by an avalanche of literature. Against this background, the article is a feature of research on the history of women on Polish soils in the early modern era, which was created in the second decade of the 21st century. The author reviews various groups of source publications, both dedicated to women and produced by women in the 16th-XVIII Century (memorial diaries, diaries and journey logs, correspondence, wills), which always influence the intensity of historical research. On the other hand, an overview of the monographical achievements of women’s history has been presented in three contractual, extensive, thematic blocs: women inside and outside the family (body, sexuality, love and emotions, and intra-family relations); their education and knowledge, urban and rural work and conflicts with the law, and thirdly their participation in politics, culture and religion. The work points to the further development of women’s studies in the sense of an increase in the number of jobs and the issues raised. It also draws attention to the need for new research methods in a historian workshop, such as the Social Network Analysis (SNA) method proposed by sociologists and successfully used in western historical science. Signalling some of the research gaps in the history of women in the staropoly era, which are not lacking for the next two centuries, the author points to the urgent need to write a scientific synthesis of women’s stories on Polish land.
