Abstract
The article presents the most defining features of next century education. With this forward-looking vision, it starts from the most significant features of present and future society. Among other things, it hears its multiculturality, population ageing, interconnectedness through new technologies, globalisation and interdependence; in short, its complexity. This brief sociological analysis, put forward by the author, is the preliminary step to be able to identify the distinctive elements of an educational model that needs to be adapted to a new situation but which must also provide tools for its transformation. Intercultural education, solidarity, criticises, creative universalism, both in formal, non-formal and informal settings will undoubtedly form the foundations of a better society in the future.
