This article analyses the iconography and ideology of the Pinacoteca of the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica in order to compare the symbolic and ideal values of portraits of Heads of State and Presidents of the Republic. In this case, the following aspects are considered: pictorial production, frame and retrafficking collection in notafilia. The portraits of José María Castro Madriz and Braulio Carrillo Colina were taken into consideration to exemplify them.
