Abstract
The aim of this work is to present a series of reflections on the creation of a virtual multilingual classroom to promote student exchanges European academics via the network, not as an alternative to exchanges traditional but as a new form of trade. The Multilingual Virtual Aula (AVP) is a real possibility to offer a subject in different languages at the same time with the help of automatic translators. The theoretical aspects on which we base our proposed are: 1. The phenomenon of multilingualism as a key element of policy European education. 2. Significant progress in investigations concerning the functioning of the different communication skills and, in particular, of the multilingual competence. 3. The growing importance and fine-tuning of these successful machine translation systems that have become a tool practically indispensable to foster understanding of the true cultural richness of our linguistic diversity. The ultimate purpose of the AVP would be for students develop intercultural communication skills and start in the art of understand in a different language students from other cultures.
