An event-based reading of political facts: between journalistic logic and digital (dice) intermediation

Abstract

The aim of this article is to understand the mechanisms of “eventalisation”, in contemporary times, while analyzing what the use of digital technologies transforms into previous socio- logical mechanisms that led to the emergence of events. In order to do this, we come across an analysis of the values that a social fact bears to deserve to be perceived and experienced as an event, as a rupture, with an analysis of the role of the media as discoverers and / or amplifiers of these social facts, being also attentive to their work of “eventalisation”. Finally, we are studying the role that Internet technologies (especially the digital networks) can play in the possibility of taking on this “eventalisation”.
