HERITAGE EDUCATION – THE POLITICAL PEDAGOGY OF FORGOTTEN?

Abstract

SUMMARY: This article presents a discussion on how the methodology of Patrimonial Education is used in Brazil, and how practice differs from speech. To this end, it analyses two practical experiences in contrast to the Basic Guide to Patrimonial Education (published by IPHAN in 1999). The first part deals with the concepts of culture, memory and patrimony; in the second, it describes analytically the methodological proposal of the Guide and the two practical work carried out in the State of Rio Grande do Sul; finally, it links the work under investigation to the questions raised through the literature review.
