Abstract
The emergence of new approaches to the history of design in the latter twenty years requires rethinking aspects of his teaching, some of which they involve historiographic reflections. To this end, the criteria for the historical and prioritisation of the topics considered relevant for the study of the subject, as well as the most widespread literature, in which we can detect postures that have shaped the brighter approaches frequent in the history of design, and more recent publications opening up new perspectives for study. On the basis of this exploration, it is concluded with a analysis of aspects that rank the role of subjects historical and social training in the vocational training of designers.
