This article presents the contract for the pala of the Major Altar of the Church of San Francesco in Recanati, commissioned by Faenza from Antone on 12 January 1530. The document makes it possible to broaden the knowledge of the painter and architect Faentino, clarifying the relationship with Giovanni Antonio da Camerino, an expert in perspective and architecture, who is also the client of the works of the painter in Montelupone, and to better highlight the importance of Recanati as a contact centre for artists working in the Ancona Marca in the first fifteenth century. The reflection was then extended to the client of Antonio da Faenza and the presence in Marche in 500 of countless Roman painters, which can be interpreted as an indicator of a precise taste orientation.
