Children and apps: learning how to read and write in digital

Abstract

Literacy is one of the key apprenticeships at school, and one of the teachers’ most important challenges. This can be achieved by using different methodologies, materials and resources, including mobile apps that can encourage children to learn how to read and write in a simple, fun and interactive way, allowing younger people to engage in this competition in a playful way. As teachers need to know these developments, the article analyses operating system characteristics, business models, more significant trends, methodology used, etc. and proposes a classification of applications for reading and writing learning.
