The aim of this work is to present and deepen the process of shaping the Region of Murcia as a tourist destination by analysing its tourism policy. In this analysis, the following factors were mainly taken into account: the position of the tourism department in the regional administration, the strategic planning and the actions carried out in the field of regional tourism policy. This process takes the form of journalisation at the various stages of policy development.
