The geometric imaginary of the man he deliberated. Charts of exercise of fantasi bouleutikh/in Aristotle

Abstract

The study is based on the discussion by De, III, 11, 434A7-10: unlike the most widespread interpretations of the passage, which depend considerably on Filopon’s commentary, the aim here is to reconstruct the measurement activity, which was formulated by analogy with ‘deliberative imagination’, in the light of procedures for the decomposition and reconfiguration of geometric figures, which were very widespread in the V-IV BC centuries, of which numismatic illustrations are also presented. III, 5, 1112B20-21 to the ‘analysis’ of figures such as Nicomáquea Ethics, VI, 9, 1142A23-29 to the triangle as ‘extreme’. 2, 453A15-16, with an interesting confirmation in Tucídides, I, 138, 3, where Temístocles is compared with a ‘habilísimo gnde mque n’. In both cases, the mathematical models on which the man imagine is inspired while trying to understand what it is to do here and now are not refined products of theoretical science, but belong to those ‘mercade-mathematics’, which Platón discouraged from practising in order to achieve the vision of the true good La reseña does not provide a summary.
