A test of ABP in mathematics teaching

Abstract

At the end of last year, a sustained commitment to the European Higher Education Area was launched at UNED, and the 1th call was launched on Research Networks for Teaching Innovation, in solidarity with this commitment. We submitted to this call a project which, while consistent with its foundations, aimed at introducing minor changes to teaching teaching in the subject of mathematics I of the Master of Economics, using the ABP (Problem Based Learning) methodology, which sought to reduce the burden of abstraction which in general: and students are attributed to the discipline of mathematics, using the above methodology, in the form of non-explicit cases, which had to be resolved not only, but also to find the applicable theory, seeking to motivate students and facilitate autonomous learning and the spontaneous creation of working groups, using the forums of virtual courses in the subject as a communication medium.
