It is reputed that kufa, whose history will be dealt with briefly, was established in the second decade AH. However, there arc substantial narratives that reveal that Kufa and some special parts of it which are against our eyes today like Kufa and Sahle mosque have a history as old as the human history and since the time of prophet Adam (peace be upon him) a particular attention has been given to these areas. With the establishment of Islamic Kufa, this attention has experienced a mutation and the peak of these changes will appear at the end time when it is chosen as the capital of the Imam Mahdi· s government. This study is defined as a sort of monograph in the field of historical geography studies which are considered as the sub-branches of Islamic history and civilization discipline. This study is an attempt to put a different perspective on the history of this city by utilizing an interdisciplinary approach and using many different narrations. According to the narratives and hadiths utilized in this study and from the perspective of Islam, it can be claimed that Kufa is one of the Islamic cities which requires numerous studies. Through doing more serious studies and researches like this about Mahdavi and Shiite approach of the policymaking, these studies can complement some parts of the Shiite studies and researches.
