Abstract
The traditional tradition continues to exist in contemporary Latin American literature, as can be seen from the reading of numerous writers from the continent, including the Mexican Alberto Chimal. In two of his stories, which are studied in this work from the perspective of the fantastic, the author comes to old myths and legends through the scene of some of his topics and characters, which relate to facts and circumstances occurring in today’s societies, showing the similarity between human beings at all times.
