TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS FOR SEXUAL EXPLOITATION AND FACING THEM FROM AN INTERNATIONAL AND NATIONAL PERSPECTIVE

Abstract

This article disagrees on addressing the crime of human trafficking, focusing on its occurrence for sexual exploitation. By means of a desk review, we seek to analyse the evolution of the relevant legislation and its effectiveness in preventing and prosecuting the crime in voting. Bearing in mind the historical context in which human trafficking is embedded, as well as its conception and forms of incidence in a factic reality, the circumstances largely favourable to the continued growth of crime at the heart of society are exploited. It can therefore be seen that although Brazil has made significant progress with the advent of Law 13.344/2016 on human trafficking, there is still insufficient response in Brazil, as little is addressed in the Cotian, and the crime thus remains subject to greater political and criminal attention, which makes it difficult to prevent and prosecute it.
