In this work, we analysed the content of Patagonia in school geography texts belonging to the Salesian Congress of the beginning of the 20th century. Our aim is to observe this territorial construction as a reflection and replication of the whole of society and political interests. The treatment of this content and its ranking over others is a way of identifying and visualising this region – even though it was not considered in the texts as a region – in the speech, in the context of the controversial historical process of its incorporation into the Nation. The Congregación incorporates in the texts, beyond its accession to the official programmes, information indicating a closer knowledge of the region, which is deepened by the progress of the editions. On the one hand, it reflects the national vision of the territories and describes Patagonia by means of counter-images that express in the space ‘civilised and incivised and unexplored’, beauty and richness against infertility and aridity. On the other hand, its explanatory notes deepen the information and bring us closer to a Patagonia with productive potential and national future, even reflecting the views of its inhabitants and those who have travelled to it: the same SalesianosIn this work we analyse the Patagonia in the scholar books of Geography belonging to the Salesians (drinking of the XXth century). About the treatment of these findings and the Structuring we can see this region just in the diffuse historical process of the incorporation to the Nation. The Congregation integrates in these books, with official programmes, information that denotes a special knowledge of the region in the different editions. These books reflect the national vision on the territories and describes the Patagonia with indications that show the Civilisation, the non-civilisation, the unexplored land, the beauty and the wealth, against the fertility and the dryness. The notes in the text covering us information about Patagonia with productive potential and national future, Capturing even the opinion of his inhabitants and the Salesians.
