Problem Statement. Modern Internet technologies open up huge opportunities for libraries of Ukraine in thecomfortable providing of information to all population. The purpose of the article is to characterize the intensity offilling of the sites of state libraries with audio resources. Research methods. The methodology of the article wasbased on the general scientific principles of systematization, complexity, comprehensiveness of knowledge. The useof special research methods (monitoring, comparison, generalization) helped in the achievement of this goal.Scientific novelty. The current state of filling the funds of Ukrainian libraries with audio resources is highlighted andconsidered the possibility of providing informational support to people with special needs, in particular with visualimpairments. Perspectives for use of audio resources in customer service based on the expansion of the use multimedia technologies in state libraries are presented. Conclusions. Audio resources created in state libraries are scatteredon websites and blogs, so they need to be organized and included in the reference lib(web)liographic resource. Thefirst step should be the introduction of fundamentally new information technologies to access the electronic resourcesfor the visually impaired, arrangement of modern computerized reading places in libraries , targeted at this vulnerable category of users. The reorientation of libraries to modern forms of work to provide users with greater opportunities in the ways of obtaining information will increase the prestige of state libraries as social institutions that canhelp people, including those with special needs.
