A new look at the place: the use of remote sensory as a subsidy in teaching geography in the rural area of Chapada, Serrinha/Ba

Abstract

In view of the current situation, at a time of major change, where information has a high degree of power, circulation and dissemination, young people feel attracted and embedded in this new technological era, in this communications world, where remote sensing tools are constantly embedded, so it has been examined whether the school makes use of these tools in geography classes, putting its products into context with the reality of discontent. In this way, this work focuses on the importance of using Remoto sensation in a school environment, enabling students to observe, analyse and understand the changes that have taken place in the geographical area of which their cotidy is composed. The main objective was to present educational resources that can contribute to the teaching of geography using remote sensory techniques at the Antonio Alves da Silva School, located in the rural area of the village of Chapada, municipality of Serrinha/BA. The methodological path adopted in that study was the implementation of a workshop in the 5th year class of Fundamental I, in which a diagnostic assessment was initially carried out in order to understand whether pupils were already aware of the subject, a theoretical context was subsequently carried out, addressing key concepts of the above topic and its applications, as well as the exhibition of satellite images from four different rural communities, places where learners live. The construction of a thematic panel in the room was the result obtained from the workshop, where the students identified natural and anthropic elements in the images of their community of origin, creating a legend to flag the different spaces and objects of the superficie. As a result, it was found that this was the first contact of students with the subject, but they were able to identify and understand the information at each stage of the work by discussing with other colleagues what was perceived in the activity, making remote sensory a relevant and highly potential topic in the teaching and learning process of students in the school area.
