METHODS FOR IDENTIFYING THE HETEROGENEITY OF URBAN LANDSCAPES. CASE STUDY: PERIMETERS OF THE BERCENI DISTRICT, BUCHAREST

Abstract

The study generally refers to Berceni, a quarter of Bucharest’s fourth sector, but the aim of the study is to identify the heterogeneity of urban landscapes, with some areas in the Berceni district concerned. The assessment of the urban landscape finally highlights the human factor of Bucharest, a city with intense dynamism, especially over the last 15 years, which has taken place after the investors’ caprice, despite the legislative rules. The aim of the study is to highlight the elements of the heterogeneity of residential space, focusing on the strengths and weaknesses that shape quality and comfort of life. For this purpose, two perimeters of the Berceni district were chosen. This study will identify significant differences between private and collective dwellings: lack of stylistic harmony, size, colour, construction geometry, fragmentation of urban green spaces caused by the construction of private dwellings, put pressure on the territory by housing needs in Bucharest.
