EDUCATION OF THE FUTURE OR FUTURE OF EDUCATION?

Abstract

The global terror derived from COVID-19 called on humanity to deeply reflect on the future of education in the world. This article discusses an emerging and polemic topic: distance-EAD education. Advocates popular control of global knowledge and digital technologies based on proposals for an internationalist organisation of ‘global resistance platforms’. It is based on two reading keys that relax the subject matter: the first refers to the ideological and narrative foundations of the EAD, namely the narrative of the anticipated future and technoidealism in education. The second connects a historical set of norms approved in the attempt to shape distance education in Brazil asymmetrically to Bolsonaro’s economic, political and educational project. Outrosim, disagrees with the evolution of the critical movement of the educational camp on the EAD debate. It concludes that it is necessary to mirror the “left” side of the technology and its potential as mediation to be captured and controlled by subaltering classes.
