Abstract
Resumo In the light of the technological transformations in the field of Descriptive Catalogue, in particular in the literature field, with the development of conceptual models such as the Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records and the proposed Resource Description and Access Guidelines for describing resources, it is necessary to understand how these initiatives relate to digital institutional repositories. The aim of this research was the study of the Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records and Resource Description and Access established in the literature domain to identify the state of the art on trends in the literature domain and the possibility to apply them to digital institutional repositories. The theoretical and methodological input of the Systematic Review of Literature has led to the mapping and identification of key elements to answer the search question. Twenty-five documents were analysed in the Systematic Review of Literature, which can be considered as a relatively low index of scientific output in line with the research proposal and the need for further studies on the topic. Computational technologies, use-cases and specific applications have been identified in bibliographic, academic and web environments. It should be stressed that the state of the art is a starting point for the development of tools and applications that bring the bibliographic domain of digital institutional repositories closer together.
