Abstract
At 82, we will not mention the importance and influence of Luis de Pablo in Spain’s music history over the last fifty years, but this was not what drew me attention to making a doctoral thesis about his music1, but the great production of saxofon works in his catalogue: 25 works today. It is a very high number compared to what frontline European composers have carried out during the 20th century and the first decade of the 21st century. Of all this great output, his opera undoubtedly stands out, as in three of his five works in this section, the saxofon is present and also has dramatic character functions. Below we will carry out an analysis of opera La señorita Cristina and the use of saxophone in it, with musical contributions that 11 years after its release are certainly new and very interesting.
