The article examines the processes of modern culture related to the development of ideas and meanings, values and ideals, which, on the one hand, determine the forms of its implementation, and on the other — determine the vector of possible transformations. The processes that are observed in modern society are recognised as globalisation in nature. Their external and internal features are systematically reflected in scientific research. At the same time, their diversity and dynamics hide a special pattern that is comprehended in the context of civilizational and cultural shifts. We are talking about special formations in the development of society, which arose, acted, and then passed from the layer of history to the layer of culture as special regulators of human activity. The initial schemes and mechanisms that thus describe the cultural process are highlighted. The main types of cultural process are set by the features of creative activity and the level of organisation of consciousness, which allows to highlight the active and mental aspects. The active aspect determines: Algorithmised activity, creative activity. The mental aspect is: concentrated consciousness, chaotic consciousness. The combination of elements of the activity and mental aspects determine the features of the cultural process. In the context of modern culture, the main types of cultural process are: systematic, selective, innovative and heuristic. The essence of the process of creativity in this context is determined by the interrelation of elements (objective activity, evolving system of values, a new meaning as a product), which interact in special forms during the implementation of the plan (specific idealisation, system reconstruction, constructive intuition).
