Abstract

The focus of this article is on the relationship between urbanisation and the management of natural resources. It is based on a case study, describes growth trends urban in eight municipalities that make up the average catchment area of the Liquequila river and links these trends with its socio-environmental problems. Based on the analysis of the case study, the article concludes with general conclusions on sustainable regional development.
