Abstract
The dynamics of French in Africa affect not only its lexicon and grammar, but also its wording, its methods of organising speech and, in general, its pragmatic level. Based on data collected in Cameroon and Burkina Faso, the study focuses on interjective pardon jobs, which seems to evolve from a conversational routine conversational to interpersonal management towards a narrative marker with more strictly discursive functions. These shifts in the pragmatic and discursive direction of pardon go hand in hand with a widening of its functional scope. Like you in many contexts, it attaches its emphasis and focus values while contributing to the structuring of the statement. Without claiming completeness, this study aims at a first systematisation of the discursive pardon functions in Cameroonian and Burkinabé French. In conclusion, she returned to the question of whether these functional changes of forgiveness were due to interference with the languages of contact or whether they referred more generally to agreements of courtesy and therefore to a different culture.
