Der WDR is planning a ‘Instruction on the use of social media’. It should cover not only the broadcaster’s official accounts, but also the private accounts of its employees, whose activities on social networks largely regulate and penalise infringements. These plans now seem to be out of the table, and in any case they are not legally viable. If the draft is still adopted in this form, the person concerned may be fully encouraged to consult the courts.
