Abstract
This document is a tool that helps to improve the management and administration of the Road Safety Committees of municipalities, especially those with high pedestrian and motorcyclist casualties. In Colombia, in the area of road safety, the most vulnerable actors are motorcyclists, which show an increase in accident rates in the period 2005-2011. Initially, a statistical analysis of the figures presented by the RUNT and Legal Medicine will be carried out to analyse the evolution of accident rates in relation to the fleet of motorcycles. Subsequently, as a theoretical benchmark, the Strategic Road Safety Plan for motorcycles in force in Spain will be used in order to identify approaches or processes that can be followed in the formulation of road safety policies or action plans; to this end, a comparative exercise will be carried out with some initiatives aimed at improving road safety, identified by the Ministry of Transport. Finally, the conclusions of the study are presented.
