Abstract
Intercultural Education currently represents a valid educational model to address the focus on diversity within the classroom. One of the consequences of the phenomenon of immigration is the coexistence in our schools of students from a wide variety of cultures. Their schooling is an invaluable opportunity to bring together, in teaching practice, interculturality and civic education for peaceful and democratic coexistence. The aim is not only to achieve higher levels of integration between cultural minorities and mainstream culture, but also to boost the value formation of all pupils and students. In short, it is about improving the quality of teaching and the daily life of schools, as well as preparing them to integrate into society in a position to assume their responsibilities and contribute to the common task of building a better future. The article sets out the main objectives and measures forming the Andalusian plan for educational care for immigrant pupils, which is being developed and implemented in the Autonomous Community in conjunction with the culture of peace and non-violence plan.
