Where these data come from
The work of the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate in relation to persons with disabilities

Abstract

The purpose of this Article is the analysis of the work of the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate in relation to persons with disabilities and, specifically, its impact on meeting the reserve quota for workers with disabilities in companies with 50 or more workers and, more generally, on increasing the inclusion of workers in the labour market. The Inspectorate has been carrying out a specific campaign to monitor this legal obligation for three years. The data advertised by the Commission in its annual reports are analysed and some improvements are proposed. The results show that this administrative intervention has been very interesting to increase the labour market inclusion of the group, although we seem to have reached a ceiling, and therefore the need for a paradigm shift and the introduction of new active labour market policy measures is proposed.
