In order to carry out this analysis, it is very important to carry out this analysis. usefulness of the concept of “school culture” developed by Bernstein and its relationship with the orders defined by the same author, instrument order and expressive order. Here we will deal with the first of these, although it should be borne in mind that both are presented. closely related, at the heart of the assessment process of the centres. As can be seen from our study, middle class parents are aware of the importance of educational advancement and the achievement of different qualifications; credentials facilitating access to the next steps. Thus, a “good centre” will be that which ensures good results, promoting and encouraging its students to not to accept expectations below their chances, always opting for higher positions than their ‘potential’, both personal and family, allow them to do so. SE observe constant references to the influence of colleagues and the peer group in maintaining these expectations and aspirations, preparing teachers or the methodologies used by them. Finally, private education is presented as a ‘refuge’, thanks to the ease of control over the school environment of their children and a certain level of selection of students according to the social class.
