Abstract
The introduction of the Cyster in the Christian Queen had a major impact on epigraphical habit. In this work, in addition to analysing the general characteristics of the cistercian epigraphy, the medieval inscriptions of the monastery of Santa María de Cañas are published. In addition to the already known inscriptions of this monastery, three new claims have been added. It is a representative example of the changes that this reform brings in the epigraphy. It ends with a section on advertising in the Císter and details the specificity of the production of Cañas in the context of the cisterciense. The introduction of the Cistercians in the Christian Kingdoms had a great impact on epigraphy. In this paper, we will analyse the general characteristics of Cistercian epigraphy as well as publish the medieval inscriptions of the monastery of Santa María de Cañas. Three unknown invocationes of epitaphs are added to the well-known register of registrations. This is a representative examination of changes in epigraphy as a result of the reform. The study concluded with a section on advertising in the Cistercian Order and the specificity of the Cañas production in the context of Cistercian epigraphy.
