Abstract
Este article aims to analyse how the construction of youth leadership spaces contributed to a policy of preventing violence in the municipality of canoes, Brazil, as well as to provide a discussion on the process that led to the construction of concrete youth leadership spaces in the public security social security project Youth House for young people and adolescents exposed to crime risk factors. The aim is to demonstrate how the construction of a culture of peace through the involvement of young people in this project is presented as a positive aspect of preventing violence.
