This article focuses on the practice of blasêmia in use in the context of languages in contact with Portuguese and Italian in the Brazilian area of north-eastern Rio Grande do Sul. It addresses general aspects of the turboloquium in its interfaces with the language, culture and identity of the ithalo-descendants. The data were collected through field research carried out with semi-structured interviews, covering, in addition to the Italian colonisation area, also adjacent areas of German colonisation. The search is qualitative in nature. This work highlights blasfêmia and its eufemisms by looking for theoretical support in specific studies carried out by Italian researchers. Blasphemia is seen here as a typical cultural element of the Italian world. Its practice is an apparent contradiction with the faith and religious spirit of Catholic doctrine that has always guided the life of the Brazilian ithal-linguists. In Italian dialect, blasphemy extends its dominance beyond bilingualism which is in the process of extinction. Eufemisms, as attenuating harm to God and other divinties, also play the role of speech markers, sometimes deprived of their original meaning.
