New education policies in response to social change

Abstract

The characteristics of the new knowledge societies call for profound changes in the renewal of education systems, guided by the right to knowledge as a public good and not as economic investment and preparation for the world of work. However, the education policies recently proposed by the European Union and implemented in our country and some of our environment link knowledge to this productive good, focus on efficiency, school yields and excellence supported by competitiveness and differentiation between schools. A model that will increase school failure, inequality and lack of social cohesion. In this text, we will show the characteristics of the new knowledge societies, the new education policies linked to efficiency and the need for changes in our education systems proposed in another direction.
