Abstract

En the article looks at the use of the social network Facebook by popular libraries of La Plata, Berisso and Ensenada (Argentina). A literature review is carried out, the methodological procedure used to identify these institutions, the finding of the use of this social network and the uses that each makes of the tool in question, based on variables such as: number of followers, number and types of publications, characteristics of interaction with the environment, among others. The results include a quantitative analysis of the established variables, highlighting an atypical case due to the number of followers, postees and community interaction. The conclusions highlight the late letting of these libraries to Facebook, which places them in a learning period. = This paper analyses the uses of the social network Facebook by popular libraries in La Plata, Berisso and Ensenada (Argentine). After a Bibliographic review on the subject, we Expose the methodical procedures employed to identify which institutions have an account on this social network and then the main uses they make of the tool in question. The uses by the libraries are analysed according to severe variables: The number of followers, the frequency and type of posts, and finally, the quantity and quality of the comments, the characteristics of the interaction with the environment, among others. In the results, a quantitative analysis of the established variables, shows an atypical case, who presents higher number of followers, greater frequency and number of outcomes and more interaction with the members of its community. The conclusion shows the late arrival of these libraries to Facebook, which places they in a learning period.
