Abstract
This article presents results of the study “Bullying homofóbic and school exclusion in Basic Cylo. The experiences of adolescent men in the city of Montevideo”. It was implemented between 2016-2018. This work focuses on analysing heteronormativity and institutional homophobia as a condition for school exclusion of adolescents in middle education. The methodological design was of a qualitative exploratory nature and the informed theories method was used. The sample consists of 20 adolescents. The results indicate that there are levels of structural heteronormability in the formal education system, especially in the private sector. The educational paths of LGBTI teenagers are intersected by inequalities, school exclusion is promoted by peers and by the institution itself.
