Abstract
If the current university is calling for education that empowers the individual to cope with the changes of the future, today we are reluctant to educate for change. Innovation, creativity and theatre as art are key pillars for a more revealing construction of historical educational knowledge. From this perspective, we justify a more practical and meaningful teaching of the history of education, based on the use of teaching resources that are more attractive to the student. This work involves the development of a teaching innovation in the History of Contemporary Education of the University of Seville’s Contemporary Education in Pedagogy, which takes the form of the application and use of theatre pedagogy as a teaching resource for the knowledge of past education.
