Abstract
This study focuses on the importance and relevance of religious education based on active participation of the learner. From the basic approach of religion and the facts of pedagogy's data-motion, active religious education has been explored. In light of the approach of obedience and submission based on the voluntary basis of Islamic religion, religious education has also been addressed for reasons why religious education cannot be in a repressive and imposed style. From the perspective of religious education based on the voluntary and active participation of the learner, some principles that need to be followed in the training process have been thoroughly examined. In accordance with the principles in question Ko-Nusu, the focus is on what will make the learner an active element of the training process. It is also focused on the determining impact of religious education based on active participation on the formation of religion in the learner and on the formation of personality.
