Abstract
Any critical remarks on Fullmetal Alchemist come to the enormous vibrant corps-canvas of a work with multiple media, almost infinite ramifications, an archaetype of young mainstream culture. The fact remains that at the heart of the stories is the red thread – the Great Chemin that every one must follow, from birth to disappearance and then disappearance at salvage; there is no return to the ‘unexpected journey’, as the journey takes place within one’s own psyche at least as much as when passing through the worlds – or times – in the great camballs of the fantasy. It is the initial journey of two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, which seems to be the richest in interpretation: having tried to bring their mother back to life through a shattered alchemical operation, they lose their bodily integrity... but do not die; they leave, they travel, they make their memory a secret time, a revolt. Their quest looks like our bottom, it is exemplary: one day or another, it is necessary to set up and accept the laws of others, before the guetters sign, until the night comes to an end, and the salient meaning.
