In recent years, a significant amount of studies have focused on the period of the recent civil-military dictatorship in Brazil. Approaches are manifold and involve various aspects such as consensus between part of society and the state, analysis of authoritarian thinking, action by opposition movements, etc. in this set of approaches, this article aims to analyse the moment of political openness with a view to not only the dissents between the military and the opposition movements organised at that time, but also the internal divergences within the military corporation.
