Abstract
O The aim of this work is to analyse in an objective and concise manner the introduction of femicide into the Brazilian legal system, including a discussion on the role of criminology and its evolution. especially in the treatment of women – and then check the need for criminal law to have an impact in the light of Roxin’s rational finalist theory and, finally, whether such a law reflects the realisation of rights. fundamental to women, or whether it would be symbolic, empty and ineffective legislation. The research is of a qualitative nature and the reflections proposed here are based on a bibliographic survey, with reference articles and works.
