Analysis of the benefit of the use of mobile devices during the traveller’s experience in Tijuana, Lower California

Abstract

The objective of the investigation is to analyse the benefits of using mobile devices in the traveller’s experience upstream of the city of Tijuana. Using a quantitative methodology, based on 95 % confidence and 5 % error, a sample of 384 surveys of visitors was obtained. The instrument consists of three blocks: the use of digital services on the mobile device, the frequency with which the installed apps are used and the level of satisfaction of the traveller at the destination due to the use of the digital services. The results show that there is a significant average correlation of 0.01 between the frequency with which the traveller uses mobile services and the satisfaction provided by the provision of such services during his/her stay. It is concluded that technology has become an indispensable component for tourists and that smartphone equipment contributes to communication satisfaction, information consultation and the purchase and mobility of tourism consumers.
