Abstract
The aim is to see the relationship between these spiritualities, leading to the only viable spirituality in the knowledge society. The texts of reference personalities from both spiritualities, such as Feuerbach, Marx, Nietzsche or Comte Sponville, among others, are analysed. Some of the essential elements of an atheal spirituality are specifically observed: critical thinking and rationality, the centrality and sufficiency of human beings and their release from submission and exploitation, and unconstrained rather than hardship. However, the main objective is to highlight that there is a cultivation of the absolute dimension of reality beyond religious traditions and that, in societies of continuous change, this cultivation requires, as Corbí proposes, a new anthropology, from an animal that speaks with double access to reality; and a new epistemology, beyond the mythic of previous paradigms, allowing the purely free and symbolic use of the wisdom of humanity. Our survival as a species and the survival of the planet are at stake.
