Abstract
Durante The last two decades, Latin American countries have tried to unify the procedural codes of their different judicial branches. In the light of this phenomenon, the article questions the usefulness of such reforms as a means of making the administration of justice more efficient and effective, and proposes specific measures to make progress towards achieving these objectives.
