This is an investigation into the processes of building reality in Uruguay’s written press into femicide committed against teenagers who were temporarily close to one another and who had a long and prominent presence in various mass local media. The two events were followed up in the two most popular print media since the first reference they made to each case until their presence in the media ceased to be sustained. This is because we try to reconstruct the definition of the facts that each medium was built under the understanding that each of them generates situational definitions or anchors that depend on logic specific to the media that are independent of the actual information available to them for the construction of the communication phenomenon. The analysis in the key to stigmatisation of social class with a gender perspective was complemented.
