Abstract
Esta is an investigation into the reality building processes in Uruguay’s written press into femicides committed against teenagers who are very close to each other and who were protracted and prominently present in various mass local media outlets. Both events were followed-up in the two most popular print media from the first reference they made of each case until their presence in the media was no longer maintained. This is because we try to reconstruct the definition of the facts that each medium was built on the understanding that each one generates definitions of situation or anchorages that depend on logic specific to the media that are independent of the actual information available to them for the construction of the communication phenomenon. Key analysis of social class stigmatisation was complemented with a gender perspective.
